Pilgrim Academy hosts first ever Christmas Fayre
Pilgrim Academy kicked off the festive season with their first ever Christmas Fayre, held in the school hall and packed with fun, games, and treats for children and families.

Following the success of their summer fayre, the school decided to create a festive version, bringing the community together for a joyful celebration.
The fayre featured a variety of stalls run by staff, families, and local businesses, festive games, and a special visit from Santa. Among the highlights was the “Human Fruit Machine,” where teachers chose an item from a stuffed gingerbread man, an orange, or a candy cane. If all three items matched, the lucky player won a prize.

Other games included “Candy Cane Lane,” where participants searched for candy canes with hidden stickers, the classic “Chocolate Spin the Wheel,” and “Poke-a-Tree,” where children pierced sections of a Christmas tree to win prizes. “Sprout Roulette” was also a hit, offering prizes, or occasionally a Brussel sprout, to participants.

Visitors could enjoy festive treats with sweet cones, hot chocolate cones, and hot dogs, while creative activities such as cookie decorating and a “Reindeer Food” station added to the fun. Stalls offered a range of handmade gifts and festive items, including:
- The Creative Sneaker Co. – show charms
- JP Personalised Designs – mugs, tumblers, and bows
- Handmade Teddies, Earrings, and T-Shirts
- Jams, Marmalades, and Chutneys
- Plants and Terrariums
- Pebble Pictures and Gift Tags

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a parent delighted visitors with a surprise piano performance of classic Christmas songs throughout the hall.
The fayre was not only a joyous occasion but also a financial success, raising £450 in just one hour.

Laura Dolby, member of the PTA who organised the event, said: "It was amazing to see our first Christmas Fayre come together so beautifully. The energy in the hall was fantastic, and seeing children, parents, and staff enjoying the games and activities made all the planning worthwhile."
Principal Janine King added: "Inspired by the success of our summer fayre, we wanted to create a festive celebration for our community. It’s heart-warming to see everyone come together, support the school, and enjoy the Christmas spirit. I’m so proud of all the staff, families, and local businesses who made it such a memorable event."
With games, treats, and festive cheer, Pilgrim Academy’s first Christmas Fayre was a wonderful way to celebrate the season and strengthen the school community.
