No One Wraps Like An Elf
Pilgrim Academy were proud to present their Year 5 and 6s play for the Christmas season, ‘No One Wraps Like An Elf’.
The show follows a story beginning in the North Pole, where Santa’s elves, under the supervision of ‘Gramps’ played by Gabriel Hoodless are working long and hard to find the perfect wrapping for each hand-picked gift.
Closer to home in the town of Wimpole, a plan is made to replace beautiful toys from Santa’s Workshop with tacky toys from Plasticopia!
The greedy Smash and Grab twins want to destroy the magic of Christmas to make money with their Ninja Knight on oily bikes replacing Santa’s reindeer. They planned to kidnap Santa and his reindeer to make sure everyone bought toys from them instead!
The brave ‘Little Elf’, played by Sienna Dawick sets out to undo the evil doings and save the day!
Teacher Mr Gibbon said that: “Both Sienna and Gabriel captured their respective roles brilliantly, expertly conveying the emotion of the characters.”
The students and staff all worked hard on the production and it certainly paid off.
A special thanks to Mrs Blease, Miss Barrass and Miss Jones for helping with the props and to Mrs Ireson, Mrs Backhouse, Miss Pickston, Miss Gray and Mr Gibbon for the directing.
Principal Rachel Clarke commented: “All of the students did a great job, the songs were sung beautifully and everybody remembered their lines well. The play was a huge success and all of the parents and relatives who supported the children in rehearsals, costumes and watching this week have been a great help in ensuring we set the mood for a great festive season!”
