Neurodiversity Pathway

In North-East Lincolnshire, the route to diagnosis for autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is through the neurodiversity pathway. Please note that schools are not able to refer for dyspraxia assessments in North-East Lincolnshire. The link below gives you a lot of information about the referral process which is a long process. Self-referrals are not accepted. Referrals can be made by any education, health or social care professional. It is important to note that traits of autism/ ADHD may not be present in all settings and it may be beneficial for schools to spend additional time observing the child. Without evidence, the referral will not be accepted. It is also important to consider if the concerns can better be explained by another existing condition or alternative influencing factors.
